We spreken allen wel een mondje Engels, hierbij wat uitleg.

This is where local school kids get dragged on field trips, but you can drag yourself out here too.

Slabs of stone that contain 40 million year old fossils, mostly molluscs, emerge from the coastal waters every day at low tide; shoot for late afternoon to see the widest collection. Visitors take off their shoes and walk out on the limestone flats to view the fossils. You'd have to be a biologist or little kid to get a real thrill out of it, but it is something to do and the seaside scenery isn't too shabby. If you can't get here for low tide but are dying to see some fossils, a small showroom houses a collection of the more impressive finds.

Apart from the fossils, the main attraction seems to be the pleasant seaside park with gazebos where local couples come to get doughy eyed with each other as the sun sets. You can also take a walk up the beach from here, though swimming would be a bit treacherous due to the fossils. The attraction mainly draws Thai visitors and a range of food and souvenir stalls set up at the park to meet their needs. Expect a crowd if you arrive on a weekend. Otherwise, you'll pretty much have the place to yourself, save those canoodlers and the school kid field trippers who make fun of them.

Admission is posted as 200 baht for foreign adults and 100 baht for children, but there was no one manning the gate when we stopped by. Several reports also say that 100 baht was the charge for adults. White songthaews cost 50 baht per passenger and take about 20 minutes to get here from Krabi town. Locals call the place Su San Hoi but the signs on the songthaews refer to it as 'Shell Cemetery.'

Ik vond het de 200 baht inkom niet waard, menigeen op Tripadvisor ook niet.
