Met deze slang stond ik voor een raadsel. Na enig opzoekwerk op internet zond ik een mail naar siam info en kreeg het volgende bericht terug:

Mr thiesen from Siam Info did send me your e-mail, as I am responsible for the snake-page. The photo shows a javanese water snake. The scientific name is Acrochordus javanicus. The sanke is harmeless but quite rare. I never did find one here in Thailand. They are protected by Thai and international law, as they were used a long time for for the production of shoes and handbags. They have a different skin from othere snakes which is not scaled. They feed mostely on fish.
As I have no photo from this sanke, I would like to use one of your photos for the Siam Info website, with your permission.
